Upon your arrival at Colombo or Katunayake Airport, your driver will warmly welcome you and begin the journey to Kandy, the cultural hill capital of Sri Lanka. On the way, you can stop at a herbal and spice garden in Mawanella to learn about local healing plants.
Arrive in Kandy and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred site deeply rooted in Buddhist tradition. Take a walk around Kandy Lake or explore the local market in the evening.
Overnight Stay: Kandy
After breakfast, head into the cool central highlands. Stop at Ramboda Falls for photos, and then visit a working tea plantation and factory to see how world-famous Ceylon tea is made.
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England" for its colonial buildings, peaceful gardens, and cool climate. You can take a walk by Gregory Lake, visit the local market, or enjoy a fresh vegetable curry at a hill-view restaurant.
Overnight Stay: Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, transfer to Nanu Oya railway station and board the scenic train to Ella — considered one of the most stunning train rides in the world. Travel past cloud-kissed mountains, tea estates, waterfalls, and charming railway stations.
Once in Ella, visit Nine Arch Bridge, enjoy the view from Ella Rock (optional), or take a walk through lush green trails.
Overnight Stay: Ella
Early risers can hike to Little Adam’s Peak for sunrise, a moderate climb with rewarding views. Then drive to Haputale, a lesser-visited but stunning mountain village known for Lipton’s Seat, where tea legend Sir Thomas Lipton once stood overlooking his estates.
From Haputale, continue to Udawalawe for an afternoon jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, one of the best places in Asia to see wild elephants, water buffalo, deer, and various birds.
Overnight Stay: Udawalawe
After breakfast, begin your return drive to Colombo or Katunayake Airport. Optional stops include local fruit stands, handicraft markets, or a quick city drive depending on your flight schedule.
